About The Artist
Hokusai Katsushika, known as just Hokusai, was a Japanese artist. He was from Edo, which is modern-day Tokyo. He was a Ukiyo-e Painter and a Wood Block Print author. His most famous work is a series called 36 Views of Mt. Fuji. He created it in response to a travel boom to Mt. Fuji. Hokusai transformed the woodblock style to focus more on landscapes than models. He made over 30,000 works of art in his lifetime.
