About The Artist

Tintoretto was an Italian artist alive from 1581 to 1594. Not much is known about his childhood. He came from a family of modest means. His birth name was Jacobo Robusti but he gained the nickname Tintoretto because his father was a dyer. Many recognize him for his speed in painting and bold style.
